CASE STUDY 1

Development of a comprehensive succession strategy for a family owning a diversified agricultural and investment business

PROJECT SCOPE

Development of a comprehensive succession strategy for a family owning an agricultural holding and a portfolio of assets across several jurisdictions, including real estate, securities investments and liquid financial instruments in the Middle East and Europe.

KEY FEATURES

  • The project involved significant legal and organisational complexity due to the scale of the assets, their distribution across several jurisdictions and the presence of more than 30 potential heirs with varying levels of involvement in the business.
  • A further layer of complexity was the multi-layered corporate governance system, which had to be aligned with the future model for capital transfer and intergenerational control.

OUTCOME

  • An ownership and asset-management architecture was developed across several jurisdictions, taking into account long-term business continuity, mitigation of inheritance risk and the balance of interests among family members.
  • Mechanisms for control allocation, asset protection, tax efficiency and next-generation decision-making were addressed separately.

CASE STUDY 2

Formation of a family office within a multi-family office structure for a cross-border family

PROJECT SCOPE

Creation of a dedicated family office within a multi-family office structure for a family with a cross-border lifestyle, living between several jurisdictions and holding an international asset structure.

ORGANISATIONAL AND INVESTMENT ARCHITECTURE

  • The project focused on systematising capital management, establishing a transparent financial model and improving the quality of investment and management decision-making.
  • Training was provided to the client’s internal family office team on asset management, interaction with advisers and implementation of the investment strategy.

OUTCOME

  • Strategic approaches to managing business assets and the investment portfolio were developed, including diversification, risk management and a long-term investment policy aligned with the broader family strategy.
  • Personalised financial plans were developed for family members, taking into account their individual objectives, income structures and life scenarios.
